Jacob Suske (born in Graz in 1980) is an Austrian musician, composer, and theatre maker currently based in Antwerp. He studied jazz bass in Bern and Lucerne and has worked in a wide range of musical and theatrical contexts.

As a bass player, he has collaborated with artists such as Bonaparte, Julian Sartorius, One Shot Orchestra or Sophie Hunger. Under the name Zachov, he develops electronic and experimental music.

In theatre, Jacob creates music and sound designs for productions at institutions including the Volksbühne Berlin, Deutsches Theater Berlin, Burgtheater Vienna, Schauspielhaus Zürich, Kammerspiele München, National Theatre Oslo, National Theatre Lviv. From 2015 to 2018, he was part of the artistic team at Schauspielhaus Wien as musician and dramaturge.

Alongside his compositional work, he also develops his own stage projects, including the electronic chamber operas Orpheus. Factory. and Elektra – was ist das für 1 Morgen? Or the performance Schtzngrmm and the night of basso continuo.

He focuses on exploring the relationship between music, space, and performance, often working collaboratively across artistic disciplines. 

Since 2016 he´s also been curating the Sägezahn Festival together with Samuel Schaab, a platform dedicated to contemporary interdisciplinary work.
